Does your child only fall asleep in a baby swing or while being rocked in your arms?

Why might this be?

This is a very rare case, as most children love this rhythmic movement, which stimulates their vestibular senses.

However, sleeping in a baby swing is only recommended for a short period (maximum 20 minutes), under parental supervision, to avoid injuries, flat spots on the head, airway obstruction, and the risk of accidental suffocation.

It is best if your child has fallen asleep in the swing, gently lift them and place your child on a firm, flat surface, such as a crib or bassinet.

What is the simplest solution to gradually eliminate this?

I suggest incorporating 5-10 minutes of swinging into your child's waking hours daily, as swinging has many positive effects for your child, such as helping them relax and calm down better, developing speech skills and a sense of balance (thanks to vestibular stimulation). Also, by doing this during their waking hours, you can fill your child's sensory tank, so they will need this rhythmic, rocking motion less.

By introducing this, you can truly experience a change, perhaps in that you don't have to constantly rock them, only occasionally, and over time, they won't even need rocking to relax and fall asleep.
